This kind of discussions is never about "convincing each other".
It is just accept the sites rules and be happy, or leave it.
I also like endgames tablebase. Actually, I only play correspondence chess to try perfection. If I want to play withou any help, I would play online or OTB chess (which I actually do and I like also).
Cheers, Béco.

No, even such a tablebase allows for perfect play. Suppose I am told that the current position in my game, with me to move, is a win for me. Now, I just try each possible move in turn until I find a resulting position that is still won for me. OK, that means that I might not get the fastest checkmate but I still get the win. Since we're talking about endgames, there probably aren't too many moves to try and many of them will be obviously losing anyway.

My original question (first post) was about the rules on Queen Alice regarding endgame tablebases. However, since it's not stated anywhere on the site, I am now looking for the administrator's opinion on this matter.

Well, IMO You cannot use a computer or computer program to evaluate or analyze a game. perfectly suit tablebases.
In fact, tablebases are the last step of evaluation of computer engines - the case when the engine calculated to the very end, and knows both the result, and perfect moves.

(and, in fact, on any site which allow tablebases, the games should be finished immediately when no more than 6 pieces remain on the board - as the result is in such case known).
