I've played one particular player four times now in tournaments. In each case he has resigned his game without playing a single move.

This is very frustrating and also seems unfair. It's unfair to the other players in the tournament if he resigns against me but plays against the others. It's unfair to everyone since his grade must be artificially low.

I have no explanation, maybe he looks at the openings I play and decides he doesn't want to play that opening. My one (polite) attempt to communicate has gone unanswered, so I'm baffled.

In my view there should be some sort of sanction that can be applied to a player like this, as he's messing up the site for everyone, not just me.

you mean Mr.IkeBrofloski...He have also done this against me and I thought he was/is afraid of sharks...but now I see he is not!..I asked him why he resign without playing single move but he did not answear..Likely he have right to do this and there is nothing to do as he Resign after all! I think jahhaj, its best for us to play the other games with power and not be frustrated... 8-)

I think everyone he resigns to is graded 1900 or more.

I dont know -- Against me he managed to play 15 or so moves in each of our 4 games before resigning.

seeing as he was a peice up in one of them, I just thought Mr.Ike was being patronising!

This guy has over 800 games in progress, and is continuing to join every tournament he can. Nothing against the rules to do that, or to resign early, but it's just silly. If you can't keep up with your current games and are resigning half of them early, why keep adding more?

I don't think he does it because he playing too many games, as Bobtzu says why join more tournaments if that is the case.

No, I think he has a thing about high rated players. I notice Blackadder that you have been over 1900, could it be that he resigned your games at the point you got your grade over 1900?

Whatever, I don't think its amusing. Even though his resignations have been to my advantage I still think it's fundamentally unfair.
