Even if Anand is indeed at the top people are allways getting knocked down from the top. And the longer he's been there the more the odds would be against him. |
Excuse me?!? You're saying that Anand's proven track record (his consistently high rating and consistently high position in the rating list) is evidence that he will do badly?
That's like saying, ``The sun has risen every day for the last ten thousand years. That means it must be getting worn out so, the more the sun rises, the more the odds are that, the next day, it won't rise.''

Our Sun is a main sequence star of spetral class G. It shall rise as it has for another 4 billion years. Eventually there will be a helium flash. Watch Out.

Who could have forseen this... Now both Gelfand and Kramnik respectively lost theirs game against Grischuk and Morozevich. Meaning than Anand, the only unbeaten player, is leading the group with 1 point more than his closest pursuer, Gelfand.
Of course, there's still 5 rounds to go, but I think there will be a new champ this year. C'mon Vishy you can do it
