Greetings,
I know it is allowed to claim a game when opponent move time is gone, but QA suggests sending a reminder first. What is the general consensus here? Personally, I'm leaning toward sending reminders for non-tournament games, and claiming without sending a reminder a tournament game.
What is the "usual" practice here at QA?
thanks

My personal feeling is that there's never any need to send a reminder. The time limit is part of the game.

I do wish we had another column in the display that said "Last move played" with a date and time. I hate to call "time" 5 minutes after the flag falls here on Alice. Yet, I don't keep track, so I don't know how long it's been. ;-(

It would be easier to use the current "time remaining" column and just write something like "-5 min" in red to mean "time expired five minutes ago".
I'd much rather see an option to make claiming games on time automatic. I don't see why my oppponent should get extra time for his move if I'm asleep or otherwise away from the 'net.

thanks for the replies and input.

I usually try and send a reminder with 24 hours or less remaining..... Then I claim the game if no move has been made.
