I've been having the same problems for 4,5 months now, without interruption, and it's really doing my head in (see my post dated Dec.8, 2007). After 2-3 days of normal functioning, I get 3 to 5 days increasingly erratic functioning, making for a recurrent cycle of 5 to 8 days every time. I get the whole collection of error message: 504 Gateway Time-out nginx /0.6.16, 500 Internal Server Error, and 502 Bad Gateway nginx/0.6.16, but what am I supposed to do with this information, since nobody else seems to be able to do something about it It often has to do with the google ads, but as things worsen it starts already with the opening of the QA site. Imagine the frustration when you play 30+ games simultaneously as I do! I'm really getting desperate, I've even been thinking of switching to another chess site, but alas, I love this one too much

Talk to your ISP.

Miguel, are you sure there's no problem on your side? I only have these problems with the QA site

Well, my computer knowledge is about the same at my chess skill, but...
What browser did you use? Is your computer old? Some of the earliest modem can't deal well with today's animation on the Web. Your post refer to Google ads, which some of them have animations. The result is that your computer may run like a tired snail, and more often crashing causing this 504 Gateway Time-Out...
Also you may check your cookies, espically if you go to many sites. Lastly, maybe formatting your hard disk may do the trick. Be sure to back-up the data saved on it or you will losing it!
That's about all I know...

Yes, it doesn't look like the problem comes from here. This "nginx" thing is something that Google uses, it doesn't come from this server. So it is either Google having issues or access to Google Ads through your ISP is the problem.
