Sighs! Ok, shall I do the same? Go on vacation whenever I'm a move away from being mated, and whilst 'on vacation' continue to play other games, start new games etc. I didn't know that was the normal etiquette on this site. Next you'll be telling me that everybody uses a chess computer!

No, that is not in keeping with the spirit of the rule. And neither is it 'normal etiquette' on Queenalice. You use your vacation days when you think you might not have regular access to the site, and don't want to lose on time, yet you still wish to play when opportunity permits.

uh... this is correspondence chess??? %-)
why bother yourself on other's behavior. If you won the game it won't change the outcome regardless of whether the person is on vacation or not. Why too eager to get a win anyway?
