aesnihc: uh... this is correspondence chess??? %-)
Thanks, your comment is much appreciated.
aesnihc: why bother yourself on other's behavior?
Manners. Courtesy. Respect for your opponent. If you start a game you should finish it, not leave it unfinished a move before checkmate, and pretend to go on vacation for 45 days. Don't you think so? Is that so hard to understand?
I'm amazed that my original query here is replied to with such a strong defence of bad manners and gamesmanship, and that makes this thread all the more interesting.
Shall I assume that you all use chess computers too?

Hi Mark
I think you're talking about this game http://www.queenalice.com/game.php?id=437758, aren't you?
I know it's frustrating, however Pentotal and aesnihc were right, you've to relax and enjoy, no matter the manners of your opponents. In this game, maybe his behavior it's not moral but it's legal. While he's on vacation he may (or may not) move, it's his prerrogative. He hasn't courtesy, ok, but it's not your problem, it's his. The first rule on correspondece chess is patience. You will not win the game on August,ok! You will win it on September. The game is yours, he's just delaying the inevitable.

therota2,
I think you are under stress... take a vacation!

I too had a game, probably many other players too, where the opponent made one move took all his leave and then ran out of time. I think people who abuse the system like this should be banned from the site. He obviously had no intention of ever making another move!
