Before I post this as an enhancement request - an acquaintance and I started a game recently IRL, and he had to leave before we finished. Is there a way to build an in-progress game on here and then invite him to finish on-line?

You can challenge your opponent to a game from a board position. You will need the FEN (Forsyth Edwards notation) to do so. Most computer chess tools can do this for you, or if you post the moves a generous soul may be able to help.

Try the free Tarrasch Chess GUI It seems quite easy to set up a position and provides the FEN nicely in plain view (unlike Arena for example).

Thank you all for your replies.
OK - given I can create the position using FEN, how do I create a game from it?

OK - found the place to put "position" in to the "open game creator" - but how 'bout if I want to select my opponent, that is, I want to send an email to a particular person (the person I was playing IRL who had to leave my house) with this game in it so we can continue using correspondence chess? Do I create it first, then get an option to send it to him?
