Hi.
Resending the data is when you sent something to the server, were taken to a page, and want to refresh that page. In order to refresh that page as is, the browser (be it IE or Firefox or whatever) will resend whatever information had been sent to generate that page.
In other words, my guess is that you played and were taken to that page. Thereafter, you must have refreshed the page, and by doing so agreed to resend the data (i.e. the move) that had been used to generate that page.
You get this message at a lot of places. For example, try the following:
1) Go to a webpage that requires login (Google, facebook, whatever) 2) Enter a wrong username & password and click enter 3) Click F5. You'll get the message asking for data to be sent over again.
I hope this clarifies stuff a bit, but more importantly I hope it can explain what happened.

Thanks for adding some extra clarification, seigneur. Based on what you've stated, how is it possible that kingdave saw the board un-moved after posting?
I would think he would remember if he had stopped the refresh ... or made the move for that matter. Also wouldn't an Internet interruption cause the page to time out rather than remain in the old unmoved state?
By the way kingdave, I did notice the site was down for an unusually long time a couple of days ago. Perhaps there is a connection. That must have been the 27th and/or 28th. Did you recently see the standard QA "maintenance" page?

I'm not saying he didn't see the move. He says he used two computers.
On the one computer, he played his move, say Qf5. He was taken to the new page. If ever he refreshes, the browser will try to send Qf5 again.
On the other computer, he played some other move. The position has changed, possibly making Qf5 a valid move again.
Sometime later, on the first computer, he refreshed (after all, the position wasn't up to date anymore). He agreed to send the data again. Qf5 was played again.
Not too complicated to figure out how this could happen.

I don't think that scenario is possible, seigneur. Also, I don't think the data is being resent on refreshes. In IE the field is cleared but even for Firefox it is not resent, I think (no wrong turn message).
Let's assume for the moment that kingdave could do all of your steps without knowing (sorry, kingdave). As far as I know, once a move has been made, no further move is possible. A standard message appears on the page to let one know that it is not their turn.
If you are suggesting the same move for a follow-up move, that would show in the game record. Also, I'd be pretty surprised if you could make a move (even a valid one) from an old game board that is not on the correct move count ... even if the positions are identical.
Was this the game, kingdave? http://www.queenalice.com/game.php?id=900382
