You like the game? Or you think it's mickey mouse?
Seems I'm the only one that plays the King's Gambit anymore. I'm expecting to start some correspondence shortly. Just been very busy

In my first tournament game in the Norwegian championship ever, back in 2001, I met King's Gambit as black. I played in class II (elo 1500-1750). I was very nervous, my opponent was rated nearly 150 points above me, and I came under a lot if pressure from the start. So when I spotted a perpetual I claimed a draw very quickly. Too quickly it turned out, since I had a winning continuation. The game went like this:

FlipFirst Move   Previous MoveNext Move   Previous Move (with variations)Next Move (with variations)   Last Move

1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Nf3 d6 4. Bc4 Nc6 5. d4 g5 6. O-O Bg4 7. g3 Bh6 8. c3 Qd7 9. b4 O-O-O 10. Qb3 Nf6 11. Nbd2 Rhf8 12. a4 Rde8 13. a5 fxg3 14. hxg3 Bxf3 15. Rxf3 Nxe4 16. a6 b6 17. Bb5 Nxd2 18. Bxd2 d5 19. Rf6 Re6 20. Raf1 Qd6 21. Rxf7 Qxg3+ 1/2-1/2

White can never escape from the checks on g3 and h3. But the game could also continued with 22.Kh1 Rxf7 23.Rxf7 Re4! treathening mate on h4. Looking back I still think this was a pretty good game.
