Use of engines is not allowed, even if you make it clear to potential opponents that you are using one.

You can find some encyclopedia of chess endings on the market. Another question is if you like to spend a lot of time to find the same or the similar position in the books. The best way to learn endings is to experience and try to find the important keys for specific situations.
