A bigger problem is players as not resign in clear losing positions

One can always hope for opponents mistake. :) I believe that one should play as long as there is some counter play, or hope that opponent can miss something. Yet, few days ago, I had two guys (on FICS) playing with bare king against king and rook till they got mated (96 moves one game), and added them to my noplay list ... there should be some limits :)

When I had played my first tournament here , I used to log in several times, playing obvious moves in some games, while intentionaly delaying big decisions in other games.

I admit that it may be unsporting to take 7 days for each move when you are clearly losing. Although I see no reason why unsporting players should be banned or punished, I agree that if I am mathematically assured qualification to the next round, I should not have to wait for the unsporting player to finish the game - I should advance to the next round straightaway.

If you mean me, it's because I was angry at your comment that people who log in without making a move in all their games are deliberately trying to piss off their opponents which, I thought was rather aggressive.

Now I see that you intended no offense by this, I'm sorry I lost my cool. *handshake*

Adding to the richerby's response I would like to say a thing.
I log on to queenalice as soon as i am online, and am logged in till i go offline.
I check my mails and do all my work while i am logged in.I never knew it could add to my opponents frustration seeing my online status and not making a move.
This could also be a reason.
