and, by your oppinion, is there something ethiclly wrong if I use vacation time to prolong my time in 1day/move (7days bank) game?

I would say that it's at least bad sportsmanship to start a game with a fixed time for the whole game with the intention of using vacation time to give yourself more time. I might go so far as to describe it as cheating.
But I think fixed time for the whole game is a really bad idea in the first place. :-)

richerby, now you got to the point: there's no sense in playing correspondence chess with fixed playing time!

I couldnot remmember any game of fixed time of mine.I did that intentionally. Although the above described plan is not a cheating to me.Often a sport turn into dog eat dog fight and ethics just evaporates, a looser having a neck under the sword of attacker never find time to argue about fare and unfare play, thus simply loosing the Worldcup.
If ur a enagaged in a a a sport it would be ur duty(i must say) to stop every possible way through which ur oponent can win, foul is the only that illegal action that is noted by the refery and in the last we r only left with results, reasons became too boring!
The notion of bad and good is often relative.

The problem is that you CAN make moves while in vacation. If the game freezes, than there is no problem at all.
Actually, it would discourage people who take vacations but still play. I think it would increase the speed, making less people taking vacations!
Vacation is not a tool to add time to your clock. It is a tool to let you go travel, or whatever.
Cheers, Beco
