Well, there is 80 people now, and the site runs fine, so the number of members online is not the problem.
I am logging response times for a few days, so far I have no indication that the problem is from the server, but I'll know more in a week or so.

That's odd. I moved in a couple of games before posting this. Response time is OK from my end.
