Hey, Physie, would my "less important games" be, for example, games with YOU, since I figure I'm going to lose anyway? :-P

Tewald, If it was you and I in the finals of a tournament that would be a critical gaame. If it is the first round and the rating difference between you and everyone else is more in 500 points either direction that would be a good time to practice knights.

Presently my USCF rating is 1977. My goal is to reach 2000 so all my USCF games are important. It is a bad time to try new openings. However when I reach 2000 USCF I might expand my openings and practice the new lines here.

Funny, for my most recent chess program I modelled knight as moving one unit in a straight line (1,2).
