why not? i don't see a problem making comments if its done the proper way. this is a site to play chess but don't forget its a site where you can make friends too... just keep it cool :-D

I don't like talking about the actual game I'm playing, but otherwise I've made good friends chatting during the game (about everything, football, books, music, politics, religion, philosophy etc), with extra comunication through Messages, Forums, Orkut and e-mail!

Yes, commenting on moves during a game should be frowned upon, it's bad manners surely. But asking what the weather's like or where they are playing - home or work etc breaks up the game a bit. All this is done by magic of course, and wouldn't have been possible 10 years ago ... so let's all make the most of it.
