Hi,

I'm in a tournament where one player in my group is waiting almost his entire time of seven days for each of his moves. Our tournament started on May 16th and we are only on the 7th move in both of our games. At this rate it could take months before round 1 is over. I don't think it's right that one person acting inconsiderately should ruin it for everyone else. Is there anything that can be done about it by the site admins, like forcing him to resign? Thanks!

I have always some players like that who almost play the moves on the last minute..Timecontrol is 7 days so I guess they have theyr right to use the time to end. I dont mind players to do this. The position dont go away.sometimes its even fun:

I give you abcdan the asvice to not be boring/angry because of players who slow down things..sometimes also they must use theyr time!..we also must do this in some games soon or later!

I don't mind if someone needs seven days to make a move. But if someone does it for every single move, then it seems clear to me that they are doing it intentionally to frustrate people. I think it's inconsiderate especially since that person is holding up a whole tournament, not just one game.

I guess the best solution is for the site to allow for tournaments with shorter timeouts or use timebanks like redhotpawn does.

I think some people also might not have the time to log in every day, maybe they only have time during weekends or such... if the time control is 7 days, it's his right to use it, it gets frustrating, I know, but you can't do much about it... so cheer up! :-D

It has been previously suggested that if the winner of a tournament has been decided, they should be given a group in the next round (without having to wait for other games to finish) and once their group is full, they can start playing in the second round.
