You don't have to leave to site. You can have the additional games in other sites if you reached the maximum 50 here in QA.

Let me add my 2 cents. For awhile over the last few months, I was wanting to join tournaments, and I didn't because there were three players in particular that I simply did not want to play. One, two, or three of these three players were in EVERY open tournament I was considering. Each had hundreds of games going, and all of them...have been discussed in these forums. I did not want to be in a tournament with any of them. I emailed Miguel a few months ago and simply told him of my experience, didn't ask for anything, just wanted him to know this was my experience. My assumption based on all the discussion is that I was not the only one.
The 50-game rule for tournaments addresses these concerns as well as any others voiced round here. Is 50 too low? I'll let others argue that. I don't anticipate ever going over 20 or so tops myself. Anyway, mine is a perspective I had not read before so just wanted to offer it. I appreciate (as do so many others) this site and Miguel's thoughtful administration.

I really don't see why anyone cares how many games anyone else is playing. What difference does it make to anything?

The point wasn't how many games someone was playing. The point was the handful of people that would join EVERY tournament, then half the time not try. It was irritating.
While I wouldn't object to it being a bit higher than 50, I'm glad the rule was put in place.

I've already explained how the 50-game rule doesn't address that issue. I also note, in passing, that the one person who was resigning all games against 1900+ rated players hasn't even logged in to the site for over a month, now.
