I really don't see why anyone cares how many games anyone else is playing. What difference does it make to anything? |
I don't care how many games anyone is playing. The difference it was making to me was that if I wanted to join a tournament at my level, I had to join a tournament with these players. Is that right or okay? How many games someone plays is up to them unless it affects others on the site. The number of games these guys were playing and the number of tournaments they were joining was affecting me and apparently others. If I wanted to join a tournament, I had to potentially play these guys. Shouldn't I have a choice? That's what I objected to, and that is addressed with the rule.

perple, in your specific case, why didn't you simply create a private tournament inviting only the people you wanted?

perple, if you don't care how many games anyone is playing, how can you possibly object to playing tournament games against people based on the number of games they're playing? It's either one or the other.

... strange behaviors in some guys, for example, this one that abandoned the games without doing moves. | That guy has left the site. He would have resigned games against 1900+ opponents even if he was only playing ten games (after all, if he was resigning them because he had too many games on his hands, he would have just entered fewer tournaments). The correct administrative solution would have been to ask that user to stop and ban him if he refused.
... these boys overloaded the system and the open tournaments. | What do you mean they "overloaded the system" or the open tournamnets? There are only two or three of these people; even if they entered every single open tournament, that still leaves seventeen or eighteen places available for everyone else. As soon as one tournament starts, another is created so it's not that the extra two or three people had to wait for very long.
Several people have said that these people caused "problems" and "distortions". But nobody has raised a single real problem caused by these users.
