While I prefer faster games, I can see some point in 10-days-per-move. What if you're in a situation where you can only play once a week? Whether you yourself just have a bad (or expensive) Internet connection, or your region/country isn't very up to date, it could happen. Let's say you can only play on Saturdays. If this week you play at noon, but you can't play next week until 1:00 PM, you could lose the game on time during that hour. So at least 8 days sounds reasonable, and 10 isn't that far from 8.
