NZ has had a select committee report recomending banning cigarettes by 2025, unfortunately it will probably not be adopted.

The tobacco industry is a powerful beast, as is Big Pharma. The most likely outcome is the removal of smoking alternatives and the protection of traditional cigarettes.
It's never been about public health. The future they want is one of more smokers and more designed-to-fail quit-smoking products. Electronic cigarettes are important. With the right level of awareness, they have the power to expose the corruption at the heart of political decision making...
