You can borrow some books from me if you'll teach me how to play better, alib. ;-)

My father and my neighbour taught me and my best friend to play. We were about 8 years old, and we began playing against each other on daily basis. Near the end of elementary school, a new friend of ours explained to us the basics of chess theory, so after a while I have become to strong for my best friend, so we didn't play as much.. (he only plays when he knows he's going to win :-D )

During college, I didn't play chess at all, until recently when I got a job and a cable connection of my own :-) Now I'm playing against that same guy who taught us the basics (he's registered here as zoki74).

I remember that my parents even tried to deny me my right to play chess, but then I'd wait for everyone to go to bed and play under the blanket with a fluorescent piece of paper :-O %-) 8-) Good ol' times.

I learned the basics from a cousin, at 18 or 19, too late! I plan to study seriously in 4 or 5 years when I will be retired... :-)
